Cyber Punk: Corporate Power and Trans-Humanisim

Cyber Punk is hands down the coolest sci-fi sub genre ever. the ideas that build and the way it is represented is usually bone chilling and awesome. Like in Blade Runner, Eden, Ghost in a Shell, or Judge Dread, The themes of Corporations running the world like governments, questioning what it is to be human and what is to be less or more, and facing problems like over population or a world post massively destructive war ( usually nuclear). What would humans do how would we face those realities, but how would we expand on them as well. The idea of massive cities more developed technologically then we have ever been yet paired with the a social decline comparable with the dark ages, where human life is valueless and civil rights are thrown away with the contracts we sign to our new Corporate leaders. The ideas of Ai being sentient or simply being a soulless entity, questioning what makes someone more human, a human who has the soul and or body of a robot or a Ai that has the soul and or body of a human. And just the terrifying vision of over population with massive cities of buildings stacked on top of buildings stacked on top buildings, making each individual seem so small and insignificant compared to the world they live in, which brings me to another aspect I love about Cyber Punk which is the feel Cyber Punk worlds give. To me Cyber Punk has a mix of a lot genre's  feelings, even if it's condensed the world becomes so massive in Cyber Punk that it has the feeling of fantasy, while also having the viewer and characters feel so small and insignificant it reminds me of lovecraftian horror, with the also the reflection of technologies advancement from grounded sci-fi. Just about one of the best damned genre's ever. Also to whoever might read this check out the manga series Eden, its spectacular.
